We all experience bloating. It may be routine for you or it may happen sporadically but just know, you’re not alone and there are some things you can try to make yourself feel better. There are multiple ways so here are a few highlights:
1. Ginger
There are numerous studies indicating that ginger root properties that can ease digestive discomforts such as constipation, bloating, indigestion, nausea, and vomiting➳ Ginger shots, which are essentially blended ginger with other flavors, can be made in your own kitchen!➳ You can also add ginger root to your smoothies, soups, and noodle bowls!
2. Food
Every person’s body is different, so while some foods may help ease your bloating others may increase someone else’s. There are some foods and beverages out there that can help with bloating:
- Teas like peppermint tea, lemon tea, ginger tea, fennel tea.
- Fruits like apple, pineapple, watermelon, kiwi, and banana
3. Hydration:
Drinking plenty of water can help prevent and relieve constipation, especially if you generally don’t drink enough water. Water helps break down food, absorb nutrients, and softens stool, which can help prevent constipation.
Most Importantly: Bloating is normal! It’s not a fun part of life, but it does happen to everyone, and it’s perfectly okay to have occasional bloating. My favorite way to ease bloating ➳ Cutting up some ginger root, placing it in a mug, pouring hot water over it, and enjoying it as a tea.
