Our motto? Take it step-by-step. We’re all on a different journey and nutrition doesn’t look exactly the same for any two people. To build sustainable healthful eating habits, you need a personalized approach and a deep-dive into the root causes of your concerns.

Do your research when doing your research. This post is about ADVOCATING for yourself. Navigating nutrition information can get CONFUSING. It’s hard to know what’s backed by science versus what’s a matter of opinion. Here, I highlight where you should use caution versus what type of information you can trust.
Caution:
Health Websites + Dr. Google:
Websites may look credible but they may not have accredited staff members providing the information. Look for accredited authors with “MD” or “RDN” next to their name and opt for peer reviewed articles.
Youtube Videos and IG Influencers:
Youtube videos can be an incredible resources for ideas and how-to’s and IG accounts can be inspirational and motivating. Credentials aren’t a checkmark next to your name. Use these sources with a keen eye when it comes to nutrition and health information.
Personal Opinions:
When talking about nutrition information, opinions can be biased. Just because someone had success with “x” or read “y” doesn’t mean it’s meant for you.
Confidence:
Peer Reviewed and Evidence-Based Nutrition Info:
These are scientific research experiments that have been reviewed by other professionals and deemed accurate and truthful
Accredited Instagram Profiles:
Look for RD or RDN within the IG influencer’s bio or look at their information and see if they’re willing to give you the research they used for their content if it’s not already linked.
Your Dietitian:
Someone who has been working closely with you and knows your diet and lifestyle is one of the best people to go to for nutrition advice and information.
Keep these ideas in mind:
Follow professional and accredited sources
Consult multiple resources
Check to see if your source is profiting off the information they’re giving you
Silence fake nutrition information used to sell products and attract attention
Just because something worked for someone else doesn’t mean it’ll work for you
